Diigo Vs. Pinterest: How best to organize your ideas

Technology as a way for teachers to share information with each other is growing quickly. The two internet tools I will discuss are DIIGO which is a bookmarking website which allows you to access your bookmarks from any computer and Pinterest which is a social media site that allows teachers to share ideas.
If you are working on a school computer and need quick access to your list of websites in order to find something. It is especially useful because you can highlight information on your bookmarked links and it will save the highlights. It also allows you to apply tags to each link allowing you to easily organize the posts in to subject matter. This site allows you to follow other users and have access to their links allowing you to see and comment on their links. This idea sharing allows you to collaborate and share ideas if you are working on a project together or are co-teaching and looking for ideas.
Pinterest on the other hand is more of a social media site where people can share their pics and links to a public forum that is easy to search and find ideas through. For me Pinterest has a clear value as a tool for learning. DIIGO as a valuable tool is not as apparent as Pinterest because of the vast number of teachers using Pinterest to share their ideas. Users are also able to organize their boards and collect ideas that fit into certain topics.

For me my preference was Pinterest because i enjoyed the open nature of the website and the vast amount of ideas that are already being shared there.
